Database Description
Since its first opening for public access in 2003, many efforts have been made continuously to improve this database both in database size and data representation methods. Currently, KDBI contains 20,803 entries (about 2.5 fold of 8,273 in year 2003) of 11,916 distinctive bio-molecular binding or interaction events, which involve 2,934 proteins, 870 nucleic acids and 6,713 small molecules. A new user-friendly search engine is developed for more accurate and efficient query, and a graphic interface is also designed for better representation of data. Moreover, more than 20 kinetic protein-protein interaction maps are constructed for better data visualization and further quantitative study of biological pathway.
The KDBI can be accessed either at http://bidd.nus.edu.sg/group/kdbi/kdbi.asp (Hosted by Bioinformatics & Drug Design group, National University of Singapore, Singapore) or at http://bioinf.xmu.edu.cn/databases/kdbi/kdbi.php (Hosted by Bioinformatics Research Group of Xiamen University, P R China).
