Database Description
The RESID Database of Protein Modifications presents supplemental information on protein modifications appearing as standardized feature annotations in the UniProt Database. The RESID Database includes:
systematic and frequently observed alternate names, Chemical Abstracts Service registry numbers, atomic formulas, masses and mass differences, enzyme activities, indicators for amino-terminal, carboxyl-terminal or peptide chain cross-link modifications, keywords, literature citations, database cross-references, structural diagrams and molecular models.

Since 1995 the database has been released quarterly, with interim updates appearing as often as biweekly. The database is hosted at the European Bioinformatics Institute at http://www.ebi.ac.uk/RESID/ and at the National Cancer Institute Frederick Advanced Biomedical Computer Center at http://www.ncifcrf.gov/RESID/. A search facility using SRS is available at http://www.ebi.ac.uk/RESID/search.html. The database is freely accessible for FTP through the EBI at ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/RESID or through the NCIFCRF at ftp://ftp.ncifcrf.gov/pub/users/residues/.
